JURIĆ, Duje, painter (Rupe near Skradin, 4/18/1956). He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1981 in the class of Prof V. J. Jordan. He was an associate in the master class workshop led by Lj. Ivančić and N. Reiser. He worked closely with Julije Knifer in 1989 and 1990. From 1977 to 1993, he worked as an external associate at the Croatian Conservation Institute, and from 1999 to 2000, he worked as a curator-restorer at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb. Since 2000, he has been a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. From 1986 to 1988, he took part in the “Kugla glumišta” projects, working in scenography and painting for theater performance. His paintings belong to geometrical abstraction and dynamic neo-geometry. He stages performances, actions and public space interventions and also works in the media of photography. He has exhibited in Croatia and abroad. His works are held in private collections and modern and contemporary art museums.
