LESIAK, Ivan, sculptor, graphic artist, photographer (Luka near Zaprešić, 10/5/1929 – Zagreb, 4/29/2008). He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1960 in the class of Prof F. Kršinić. He took scholarly trips to Greece (1964-65) and Egypt (1973-74). He was a member of the Biafra art group and took part in their exhibitions from 1970 to 1978. He produced reliefs in cooper, zinc, iron and steel, displaying symbolic, occult-hermetic content of surrealist scenes marked by their poetic fantasy, narration and an immediate artistic expression. His works were included in the exhibition presenting 125 masterpieces of Croatian art, marking 125 years of the Croatian Association of Fine Arts. He held solo exhibitions in Croatia and abroad and his works are included in the collections and foundations in Croatian and worldwide.
