ABRAMOVIĆ, Marina, international post-conceptual artist (Belgrade, 11/30/1946). She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1979. She completed the postgraduate study program in Zagreb in the class of Prof Krsto Hegedušić. She began her career as an artist in the 1970’s in Belgrade as a painter, then as a performer using body as the medium for the exploration of physical and mental limitations of the body. She works with film, video, performance art, body art and spatial interventions. Since 1976, she has staged a number of body art performances both solo and in collaboration with other artists. Since 1988, she has been working abroad. She has won several awards and recognitions. Her works are held in contemporary art museums worldwide.
