MARTEK, Vlado, painter, poet (Zagreb, 5/10/1951). He graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb. His artistic activity began with the engagement within the Group of six artists, which he cofounded. His work consists of exhibitions, agitations, installations, graffiti art, books, artist’s books, publications, poetry, anonymous actions, drawings, graphic art, paintings and collages. He has staged artistic actions in the city in the form of anonymous messages written on walls (Read kamov, 1981) and handed-out flyers with similar content. He is fascinated with the phenomenon of language and close to post-conceptualism. He has held solo exhibition in Croatia and abroad. His works are held in museums, foundations and private collections.
